Recap: Buckley Griffins vs. Provo Bulldogs
On Monday, Buckley suffered a rough 59-38 loss at the hands of Provo. While losing is never fun, Buckley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 573rd in California, while Provo is ranked 35th in Utah).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Provo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Finn Powelson, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Carter, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Buckley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Provo, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Buckley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gresham at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Gresham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Buckley likes a good challenge. Provo won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Monsignor Scanlan at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
