Soccer Game Preview: Edgewood vs. Portage

The Edgewood Crusaders will square off against the Portage Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgewood's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Portage's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Portage better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Edgewood's game on Saturday is any indication, that's when Edgewood really gets things going. The Crusaders never let Delavan-Darien get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Edgewood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Portage's offense. They lost 5-0 to Lodi on Monday.

The win (which was Edgewood's third in a row) raised their record to 10-1-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Portage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Edgewood took their win against Portage in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
