Soccer Game Preview: East Lyme vs. East Hampton

The East Lyme Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the East Hampton Bellringers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

East Lyme had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Bacon Academy on Saturday. The Vikings blew past the Bobcats 4-1. East Lyme might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Hampton). They never let Westbrook get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday. Given East Hampton's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Westbrook are ranked 144th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Lyme's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for East Hampton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
