Football Recap: Kendall Jackson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Upper Dublin

Cheltenham hadn't done well against Upper Dublin recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 28-21 win over the Cardinals. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 20-17 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Cheltenham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Jackson out in front who threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Jackson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. A healthy portion of Jackson's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Carsen Giddiens, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cheltenham's defense and their four sacks. Kyle Montgomery was especially locked on to Upper Dublin's QB and sacked him twice.

The victory made it two in a row for Cheltenham and bumps their season record up to 3-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.5 points over those games. As for Upper Dublin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
