Baseball Game Preview: Wellington Eagles vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

The Wellington Eagles will square off against the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wellington's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Greeley Central. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Nate Blehm made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Wellington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mountain View, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Northridge by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won three in a row.

Wellington's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
