Baseball Game Recap: Winton Woods Warriors vs. Walnut Hills Eagles

Winton Woods extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to the Walnut Hills Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lawrence Brown Jr was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

As for Walnut Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Walnut Hills' side, the team relied heavily on J.T. Thornton, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Thornton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charles Albright, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Winton Woods wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Withrow on the 17th. Hopefully Walnut Hills paid attention to the Warriors' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
