Baseball Recap: Carroll Tigers vs. Flour Bluff Hornets
Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flour Bluff Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-8 back in March.
Trey Torres was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dax Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Carroll's record now sits at 3-18. As for Flour Bluff, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Carroll Tigers face off against Gregory-Portland Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Flour Bluff, they will host Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
