Murrieta Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Santiago Sharks. The Nighthawks haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Murrieta Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Santiago into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley is headed away from home for the first time to take on Beaumont at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santiago, they will take on Ontario Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
