Football Recap: Crockett County Find Success

Crockett County proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 31) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-26 win over the Jackson North Side Indians. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Dk Woods was his usual excellent self, rushing for 196 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crockett County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Quinn Jenkins and Davien Caruthers certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jenkins threw for 159 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes, while Caruthers gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns.

Crockett County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Jackson North Side, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Crockett County will challenge Dyersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Jackson North Side, they will face off against Hardin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
