Preview: Freer Buckaroos vs. Premont Cowboys
The Freer Buckaroos will head out on the road to take on the Premont Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Premont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Freer, who comes in off a win.
Ben Bolt typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Freer proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Badgers 44-30.
Freer found their leader in underclassman Ayden Ramirez, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Ramirez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Noah Flores was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Premont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 65-25 loss at the hands of Ben Bolt.
Freer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-18 record this season. As for Premont, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-24.
Freer took their victory against Premont in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 74-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
