Softball Recap: Highland Gets the Win

While Highland's victory against Century wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams skirted past the Diamondbacks 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past McKenna Sutton, who gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Century off the board. Sutton has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Highland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Sommers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Century, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will face off against Thunder Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Century, they will take on Skyline at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
