Softball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Monache Marauders

The Chowchilla Tribe will take on the Monache Marauders at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Chowchilla is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Clovis West just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles.

Chowchilla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Guardado, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monache came up short against Bullard on Tuesday and fell 4-1. The Marauders haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Chowchilla's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for Monache, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Monache's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chowchilla has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Monache, though, as they've only averaged .287. Will they be able to contain Chowchilla's hitters?

Chowchilla couldn't quite finish off Monache when the teams last played back in May of 2022 and fell 3-1. Can the Tribe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
