Basketball Recap: John Paul II's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

John Paul II came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Ursuline Academy Bears by a score of 60-53 on Monday. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 61-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ursuline Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Annabelle Tobin, who went 8 of 20 en route to 21 points and six boards. That was a full 39.6% of Ursuline Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lucy Devlin, who put up 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Ursuline Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

John Paul II didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-68 loss against Prestonwood Christian on the 14th. As for the Bears, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-38 victory against the Bears on the 17th.
