Volleyball Recap: Oxnard Comes Up Short

Oxnard lost to Ventura back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Oxnard took Ventura into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13, 20-25, 24-26, 15-10.

Oxnard's offense was headlined by Caiden Aguilar and Jared Osorio, who picked up 19 kills apiece. They got some help from Levi Martinez and his 49 assists.

Oxnard now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Ventura, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Oxnard is taking a road trip to face off against Dos Pueblos at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ventura, they will venture away from home to challenge Foothill Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
