Columbia Central came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Northwest Mounties by a score of 50-43. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Mounties are ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Columbia Central pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.5 points. As for Northwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Central will take on Hanover-Horton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest, they will square off against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marshall has four straight victories, Northwest has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
