Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy vs. Orangeburg Prep Indians

Palmetto Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-45 to Orangeburg Prep. Palmetto Christian Academy has not had much luck with Orangeburg Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Several Palmetto Christian Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clay Chakeris, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chakeris has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Shaw, who scored 14 points.

Orangeburg Prep found their leader in underclassman Tilden Riley, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Riley is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Harris Holstein was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Palmetto Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Orangeburg Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmetto Christian Academy will take on Thomas Sumter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas Sumter Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Orangeburg Prep, they will be playing at home against Northside Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Northside Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
