Basketball Recap: Southern Comes Up Short

Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 47-25 to the Washington County Commanders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 51-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Southern's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Washington County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern will face off against Bullitt Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington County, they will venture away from home to take on Marion County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
