Baseball Game Preview: Indian Trail Hawks vs. Racine Case Eagles

For the second straight game, Indian Trail will face off against Racine Case. The Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Indian Trail's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Racine Case's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Indian Trail took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Racine Case. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Connor Peck looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Indian Trail is undefeated when Peck allows one or fewer hits, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jack Zeller was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Cade Minatto was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs.

The loss snapped Racine Case's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-7 record. As for Indian Trail, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Indian Trail has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game.
