Volleyball Game Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. Jamestown Eagles + How To Watch

Lafayette is 1-9 against Jamestown since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rams will host the Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

Lafayette came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Grafton, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rams have suffered since September 15th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-9, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Lafayette had strong showings from Laurel Bray, who had five digs and four aces, and Lynley Cannon, who had eight kills and one block. Bray is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Jamestown and Poquoson, and Jamestown kept the tradition alive. The Eagles came out on top against the Islanders by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

The win didn't come easy: Poquoson scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 25-19.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Jamestown, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
