Basketball Recap: Cumberland Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chapel Hill, Cumberland Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They strolled past the Carthage Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cumberland Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Carthage, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Cumberland Academy will venture away from home to face off against Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cumberland Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Carthage, they will take on Pine Tree at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
