Softball Recap: Ross Comes Up Short

Ross extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 9-21. They came up short against the Napoleon Wildcats, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Ross saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Gazdecki, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Napoleon, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-14. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

On Napoleon's side, Kendall Horner (2026) was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Horner (2026) was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carmen Rupp (2028), who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alexa Duryea (2026), who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Ross nor Napoleon have any future games scheduled.
