Softball Game Preview: Warwick Warriors vs. Donegal Indians

Warwick and Donegal are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. Warwick will welcome Donegal at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Warwick is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Spring-Ford on Friday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2.

Kate Shaak was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Katie Heisey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Donegal beat Middletown 11-6 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Donegal's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Warwick, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Warwick skirted past Donegal 5-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Warwick repeat their success, or does Donegal has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
