Volleyball Game Preview: Upper Arlington Golden Bears vs. Olentangy Liberty Patriots

Upper Arlington is 1-9 against Olentangy Liberty since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Golden Bears will look to defend their home court against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Lincoln wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Upper Arlington, they should've done a better job of containing Asha Chaudhari. The Golden Bears came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Chaudhari, who had 17 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Upper Arlington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Olentangy Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Grove City with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Patriots not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-14.

Olentangy Liberty pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Upper Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Upper Arlington came out on top in a nail-biter against Olentangy Liberty when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Golden Bears repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
