Baseball Game Preview: Union Local Jets vs. Monroe Central Seminoles

The Union Local Jets will head out on the road to face off against the Monroe Central Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Union Local, who comes in off a win.

Union Local took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against John Marshall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Monarchs 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jets.

Meanwhile, Monroe Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Shadyside. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Seminoles have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Monroe Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Prestin Binegar, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Brayden Baker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Union Local now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Monroe Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
