The Thales Academy Apex Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thales Academy Apex is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Thales Academy Apex and St. Thomas More Academy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Titans put the hurt on the Chancellors with a sharp 12-2 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Rylan Sheldon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Thales Academy Apex's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, James Speight was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Louie Olsen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Thales Academy Apex was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Thales Academy Rolesville entered their tilt with Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Lion.
Like Thales Academy Apex, Thales Academy Rolesville also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Nash. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nash was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Clark, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one double. Another player making a difference was Andy Moore, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Thales Academy Rolesville pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Thales Academy Apex, their record now sits at 4-2.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Thales Academy Apex has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .519. However, it's not like Thales Academy Rolesville struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Thales Academy Apex might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Thales Academy Rolesville in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
