Baseball Recap: Bridgewater-Raritan Victorious

Bridgewater-Raritan came out on top against Hunterdon Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Panthers took their match against the Red Devils 8-3. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

Kellan Komline made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Timothy Park was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Matthew Cichocki, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Bridgewater-Raritan's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Hunterdon Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.

Coming up, Bridgewater-Raritan will head out to face off against Rancocas Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hunterdon Central will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' game: after the Panthers face off against the Red Devils, they'll take on Hunterdon Central again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
