Football Recap: Jace Williams Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Spartanburg Christian Academy

Thomas Sumter Academy posted their closest victory since October 4, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors 55-52. This was payback for the Generals, who suffered a 21-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thomas Sumter Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Williams, who threw for 470 yards and eight TDs while completing 78.1% of his passes. The Generals' leading receiver Christian Williams was Jace's top target yet again, picking up 208 receiving yards and three scores.

Spartanburg Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Wiley, who rushed for 239 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and Noah Caffell, who rushed for 166 yards and three TDs. Wiley really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.

Thomas Sumter Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-14 defeat against Northside Christian Academy on the 19th.
