Football Recap: Vista del Lago Comes Up Short

The Vista del Lago Eagles came up short against the Oak Ridge Trojans on Tuesday and fell 13-6. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Trojans are ranked 26th).

Laurel Smart was the offensive standout of the contest as she picked up 41 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Vista del Lago and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Oak Ridge, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Vista del Lago wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 63-0 victory against Sacramento on the 3rd. As for Oak Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-0 defeat against Woodcreek on the 4th.
