Softball Recap: Butler Takes a Loss

Butler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Pine-Richland Rams, falling 16-3. The Golden Tornado were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Butler saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kierra Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Smith a new career-high.

Butler's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1. Pine-Richland has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Butler will square off against rival Norwin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pine-Richland is set to take on their familiar foe Seneca Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
