Baseball Recap: Oak Ridge Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Oak Ridge and Folsom have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Wednesday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Oak Ridge got a great performance from Ethan Lamb as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Lamb also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Trojans are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Ryan Hubbard was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Oak Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Folsom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Oak Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against Folsom: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
