Winchester school sets two girls basketball state records with 63-38 victory.

The powerful Millbrook (Winchester, Va.) girls basketball team rolled past previously unbeaten Courtland (Spotsylvania, Va.) 63-38 on Saturday to win the Group AA Division 4 state championship in Richmond, Va.

The impressive victory enabled the Pioneers to extend their state-record winning streak to 80 games and become the first girls team to capture three titles in a row. The other two were in Division 3, one class lower.

University of Delaware recruit Courtni Green and Alisha Mobley each had 21 points and 13 rebounds for the champs. Sara Mead added 13 points and made all 10 of her free throws.

Noted for their defense, the Pioneers held Courtland to 30 percent shooting and its lowest point total of the year.
