Baseball Game Preview: Northwood Timberwolves vs. Laguna Beach Breakers

For the second straight game, Northwood will face off against Laguna Beach. The Timberwolves will venture away from home to square off against the Breakers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Northwood fell victim to Laguna Beach and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Breakers. The Timberwolves' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Laguna Beach's part, they got a great performance from Branson Wade as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Wade has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lincoln Adams, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Becker Sybirski, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The win was the fifth in a row for Laguna Beach, bringing their record up to 18-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Northwood, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13-1.
