Basketball Recap: Appleton East Comes Up Short

Appleton East lost to Seymour back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots lost 79-58 to the Thunder. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Thunder are ranked 13th).

Appleton East is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. As for Seymour, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, Appleton East will host Fond du Lac at 7:15 p.m. on January 6, 2026. The Patriots will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67.11 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Seymour, they are taking a road trip to challenge Shawano Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
