Baseball Game Preview: Colony Knights vs. Palmer Moose

For the second straight game, Colony will face off against Palmer. The Knights will challenge the Moose at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Colony is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Palmer, who was ranked 12th at the time (Colony was ranked eighth). The Knights walked away with a 7-3 win over the Moose on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hayden Sherman was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sherman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cody Otto and Aidan Satterly did most of the damage at the plate: Otto got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Satterly went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most runs Otto has posted since back in May of 2024. Easton Cook also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Colony's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Palmer, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Colony has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Palmer struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
