Softball Game Preview: Glastonbury Guardians vs. Wethersfield Eagles

The Glastonbury Guardians will challenge the Wethersfield Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Glastonbury has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Glastonbury came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-6 to Southington.

Sylvia Lewis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenlee Gardner, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Wethersfield came up short against Windsor on Friday and fell 6-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wethersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Glastonbury, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Glastonbury beat Wethersfield 5-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Guardians repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
