 The Westover Patriots can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Friday. They took down Cairo 50-35. The  victory was just what Westover needed coming off of a  69-44 loss in their prior  match.
  Jada Landers was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 22 points and ten  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Sydney Donaldson, who  scored 11 points along with two  steals.
 Despite the loss, Cairo still got an impressive performance from   Danyel Sparrow, who  scored ten points along with six  rebounds and three  steals.  Elyse Pierce was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with three  steals.
 Westover's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Cairo, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that  loss, which was their 14th straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Westover won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against Terrell County at 6:00  p.m.  on February 3rd. Westover has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cairo, they won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against Shaw at 4:00  p.m.  on February 3rd. Hopefully Cairo focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 36 on Friday.
