Vardaman has gone a perfect 6-0 against Tremont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rams will challenge the Eagles. Vardaman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

Vardaman will face Tremont after dropping another heartbreaker against South Pontotoc on Monday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within two of beating them. The Rams lost 11-1 to the Cougars. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rams, who until this matchup were averaging 3.45 runs allowed.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tremont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Thrasher on Monday.

Caleb Neal was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Tremont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-16 otherwise. Jayden Summerford was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Vardaman's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Tremont, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vardaman has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tremont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Vardaman beat Tremont 7-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
