Basketball Preview: Immanuel Christian Crusaders vs. Big Pine Warriors
The Immanuel Christian Crusaders will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Big Pine Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Hopefully Immanuel Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
Immanuel Christian can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest. They really took it to Owens Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-27 victory at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.
Immanuel Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izaiah Galvez, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galvez has scored all season. Mathew Guevara was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Big Pine, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-38 loss to the Braves on Saturday. Big Pine has struggled against the Braves recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Big Pine saw an underclassman step up: Noah Ericson scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Miller, who scored seven points.
Immanuel Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Big Pine, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Immanuel Christian took their win against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 47-23. Will Immanuel Christian repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
