Football Recap: Rule Comes Up Short

Rule extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Trent Gorillas, falling 75-52. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gorillas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Trent, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The result was nothing new for the Gorillas, who have now won three games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Leading Trent to victory were Michael Wallis and Keagen Hollis. Wallis gained 287 total yards and three touchdowns, while Hollis rushed for 150 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. What's more, Wallis posted three rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanse Williams, who picked up 98 receiving yards and three TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rule will welcome Guthrie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trent, they will be playing at home against Lueders-Avoca at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
