Basketball Game Preview: Lewiston Tigers vs. Diller-Odell Griffin

Lewiston is 0-10 against Diller-Odell since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Lewiston Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Diller-Odell Griffin at 7:30 p.m. Diller-Odell took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lewiston, who comes in off a win.

Lewiston will bounce into Friday's match after beating Parkview Christian, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Lewiston secured a 66-61 W over Parkview Christian on Thursday.

Lewiston's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Everett Bohling, who went 10 of 22 on his way to 26 points, and Brock Janssen, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Those 26 points gave Bohling a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Weyers, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Diller-Odell played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Johnson-Brock 67-18. The Griffin haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Diller-Odell got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Jack Phillips and Braydin Wendland, who each put up five points. Jacob Novotny held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Lewiston's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Diller-Odell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Lewiston came up short against Diller-Odell in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 37-29. Can Lewiston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
