Soccer Recap: Oxford Academy Comes Up Short

Oxford Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Santa Fe Chiefs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Chiefs are ranked 110th).

Oxford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Santa Fe, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0-3.

Oxford Academy will head out to challenge Glenn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oxford Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Santa Fe, they will take on La Habra in a tournament on Saturday. La Habra will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Santa Fe surely won't give up without a fight.
