Basketball Recap: Paramount Takes a Loss

Paramount was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Warren Bears and fell 79-42. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 79-42 on January 10th.

Jay'Mari Redmond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Warren, dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 19 rebounds, and ten assists. Redmond is becoming a predictor of Warren's success: when he posts at least ten assists the team is 10-5 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was David Garcia, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

Paramount's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Warren, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paramount will host Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Downey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Warren, they will challenge Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.
