Softball Recap: Plano East's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Plano East waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the McKinney Lions by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in March.

Jadyn Dawson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Plano East let Kayleigh Miller and Chloe Lee run wild. Miller went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Lee scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Lee has posted since back in March. Gina Martin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Plano East pushed their record up to 20-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for McKinney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-25-1 record this season.

Plano East will be playing in front of their home fans against Allen at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for McKinney, they will square off against Rock Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
