Basketball Recap: Windsor Wizards vs. Greeley Central Wildcats
Make it 11 blowout wins for the Windsor Wizards this season. They blew past Greeley Central 75-51. Winning may never get old, but Windsor sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Windsor found their leader in underclassman Brady Kingsley, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kingsley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Smiley, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Greeley Central lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Martin Mendoza. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Daniel Martinez, who scored 11 points.
Windsor pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Greeley Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Windsor will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Longmont is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Greeley Central, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m.
