Basketball Recap: Jean Viterlens Joseph's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Edison over North Miami Beach

Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Miami Beach Chargers. The Red Raiders lost against the Chargers in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-17 score last time.

Edison's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jean Viterlens Joseph, who posted six points and eight boards. Garrett Stomeling also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

North Miami Beach's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Inoamercedes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jephte Noel, who put up 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for North Miami Beach, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison has already played their next matchup (against Killian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Miami Beach will take on Downtown Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Downtown Doral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
