Kongiganak triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Carson Miller

Recap: Kongiganak Wolverines vs. Chief Paul Memorial Falcons

The Kongiganak Wolverines entered their tilt with the Chief Paul Memorial Falcons with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Kongiganak walked away with a 59-52 victory over Chief Paul Memorial on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kongiganak also won the last time the pair played on Friday.

Carson Miller went supernova for Kongiganak, scoring 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maegan Miller, who scored ten points.

Despite the loss, Chief Paul Memorial still got an impressive performance from Charly Peter, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Erica Paul, who scored nine points.

Kongiganak pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Chief Paul Memorial, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kongiganak won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eek at 8:30 a.m. on January 20th. As for Chief Paul Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge Lewis Angapak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lewis Angapak's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
