Baseball Recap: Tipton-Rosemark Academy Find Success

Tipton-Rosemark Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Brighton Cardinals by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in March, they had to take a 7-4 loss.

Haydn Davis looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trace Scott, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was RJ Massey, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Brighton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, Tipton-Rosemark Academy will face off against Gibson County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brighton, they will square off against White Station at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
