            Softball Recap: West Linn Lions vs. Oregon City Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
            West Linn hadn't done well against Oregon City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. The Lions skirted past the Pioneers  3-1. The three-run effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring  contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

 Avery Wolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 On the hitting side, West Linn let  Vivienne McGraw and  Meg Allen run wild. McGraw  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI, while  Allen  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  McGraw has posted since back in May of 2024.  Emily Sakys was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  double.
West Linn is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record  this season. As for Oregon City,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 6-11 record.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West Linn is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Tualatin  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oregon City will  take on  rival Tigard  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
