Baseball Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter Cardinals vs. Greensboro Day School Bengals

The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Greensboro Day School Bengals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Charter hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

On Thursday, Cornerstone Charter came up short against Chatham Charter and fell 5-2.

Cornerstone Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Barbee, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Parker Daniels also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Greensboro Day School made easy work of Greater Vision Academy on Thursday and carried off an 18-1 victory. Considering the Bengals have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Ray was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Nick Salas, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Greensboro Day School pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
