No. 1 teams still battling for state championships.
A total of 26 states have crowned state champions and 12 more will do so this weekend, but none of the recently crowned champs hold down a No. 1 spot in the MaxPreps Regional Computer Football Rankings.
Northeast No. 1 St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.) will play for the Non-Public Group III title against Pope John XXIII this weekend while Midwest No. 1 Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) faces Mentor in the Ohio Division I state championship game.
California, Florida and Texas are still several weeks away from completing their state tournaments. St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) is No. 1 in the West while Washington (Miami) is No. 1 in the South and DeSoto (Texas) is No. 1 in the Southwest.
The regional rankings are based on the
MaxPreps computer rankings. Record and ranking are included for each team.
Be sure to check out the
MaxPreps Metro pages for most of the regions listed below, and see the
complete playoff brackets for each state.
